State v. L.P.N.

State v. L.P.N. (Resolution Date 01/11/2022)

On December 4, 2019, the Defendant/motorist was traveling on U.S. 1 when he rear-ended a vehicle causing a two-car collision.  The investigating officer appearing at scene of the collision issued the Defendant/motorist a summons for driving carelessly in violation of N.J.S.A. 39:4-97 (careless driving).  The Prosecutor would not agree to a fair plea resolution. The case was tried in Municipal Court. At the conclusion of the bench trial, the Municipal Judge found the Defendant/motorist not guilty of careless driving.   As such, the defendant did not have to pay any fines and did not incur any points.
